Water is the latest unconventional single from London-based Belgian singer songwriter Diego Philips.

There’s an immediate sense of rawness and authenticity to Water that draws you in. Genre-wise, it’s difficult to categorise, combining acoustic folk elements with a certain experimentation that blends in bleeding edge neoclassical. It’s all held together by Diego’s inimitable vocals which provide the track’s emotional heart. A ghostly strings interlude before the crescendo is a particular highlight.
Already delighting audiences in London, I feel like it’s only a matter of time before the rest of the UK, and indeed the world, is taking note of his unique sound.
Water will feature on Diego’s new EP I Want to Laugh Until I Cry, set for release 13 December 2024. You can give the single a listen below.
