Leo Golo releases ’80s-inspired new pop single

York Calling favourite Leo Golo explores a new sound with his latest track, Holding On.

Barcelona, Spain-based artist Leo Golo first appeared on this blog in May this year through his single All In & All Out and we quickly became fans. In July, I shared its follow up, the tender LGBT love song, See Your Face.

His new single Holding On sees him doing something different with his sound, drawing on the music of the ’80s to create an intimate and emotional soundscape in which Leo’s soulful vocals shine. An understated intro builds pleasantly to a pop crescendo in the chorus. Its lyrics tug on the heartstrings through its story of letting go of what can’t be saved.

The track will feature on Leo’s upcoming debut album, set for release later this year. The track is out now and you can give it a listen below.
