A familiar phrase sung on the terraces of Elland Road, Marching On Together is the name of the newest single by Leeds-based pop artist Cole LC.
By Graeme Smith
It was summer last year that Cole LC made his debut on these pages thanks to his politically-charged R&B track Slowly (Hope You’re Not a Tory). We followed that up earlier this year with a share on his single Wingman.
His latest sees him team up with producer Deewaan to create a tale of inner-city hardships, and how that can create unity. Its title borrows from the famous Leeds United Football Club chant, but that’s about where the similarities end. Cole’s track is urgent, textured electronic pop that’s full of emotional soul.
Cole LC is a young artist putting Leeds on the musical map. We’re lucky to have him representing Yorkshire as he is.
Marching on Together is out now and you can give it a listen below.
