A familiar face brings a new sound with Cult Python’s debut single

Cult Python is a new name on this blog, but their charismatic frontman is a familiar face. They’ve just released their debut single and video, How To Not Go To Hell.

By Graeme Smith

The band is the new project from Future Caveman’s Joe Tennant, a man whose music was all over our pages in 2021 and 2022. Cult Python sees him taking a slightly different direction with his music, drawing on classic rock influences and giving them a modern edge. What hasn’t been lost is the poetic, cynical storytelling in the lyrics, and an overwhelming sense of world-weariness.

How To Not Go To Hell was produced with Dominic Mitchison at Bristol’s HUMM Studios. It was mixed and mastered by Kristofer Harris. It’s out now and you can check out its video below.

And if you happen to be in Bristol tomorrow (5 September 2024), you can catch Cult Pythons playing live at The Golden Lion.
