Leeds and Bradford-raised singer songwriter Jack Bailey returns with a tale of heartbreak, The Fall.
By Graeme Smith
The Fall draws on the Biblical myth of Adam and Eve for its story, but it also speaks of a personal heartbreak for Jack. Knowing that makes its descriptive lyrics all the more poignant. The emotion is beautifully expressed by his soulful vocals, and a Sheeran-esque chorus provides a pop highlight.
Once again, Jack is proving to be the king of the hook. His ability to hold the attention with his personal storytelling is second to none. I think he’s Yorkshire best kept secret. Hopefully that will soon change.
Jack self-recorded, produced, mastered and published The Fall. It’s out now and you can give it a listen below.
