A team up with Green Day and Paramore producer Rob Cavallo, The Curtain is the latest track from former A+ Dropouts frontwoman Earth To Cheska.

Real name Cheska Zaide, her solo project has featured on these pages a couple of times before. Earlier this year I discovered her music through her single Power, and shared its follow-up, Girls Gone Wild.

Her new single, The Curtain, shows the diversity of her sound, stripping things back in an intimate number full of romance and heartbreak. Most of its instrumentals were recorded using voice memos, giving it a raw and demo-like sound that perfectly matches the meditative nature of its lyrics. A soaring, blues-like chorus is the highlight, and Cheska’s vocals remain compelling throughout.
