Though Bethannie now calls London home, we can very much claim her as a Yorkshire lass. She’s been making music all her life, inspired by the jazz greats. Her career has now culminated in her debut single.

And what a debut it is! In Minds Under My Skin, she brings together her love of classic jazz with something altogether more modern. Lyrically, it speaks of finding self-acceptance in the face of social media which encourages perfection. There’s more than a touch of Amy Winehouse in her vocals, and fans of the legend will certainly find a lot to love about Bethannie’s music.

Recorded at Sheffield’s Crystal Ship Studios, Minds Under My Skin is out now via Run Rabbit Run. You can check out its performative video below.
