Instant crush drop emotional new rock single

Instant crush grapple with the emotion of a painful breakup with new single, SAFETY NET.

By Graeme Smith

Led by American singer songwriter Megan Cannon, instant crush have made it to these pages once before. Back in 2021, Jane shared their track Will I Always Feel This Way? and was captivated by her singing voice and the track’s catchiness. Since then, Megan has recruited the talents of Matthew Tran, Keegan Mangahas, and Zoee Mangahas to create a full-band sound.

Their new single brings with it a similar catchiness. A lively indie rock instrumental creates the atmosphere while Megan’s soulful vocals provide the emotion. A driving bridge leads nicely into its showpiece chorus that will stick with you.

SAFETY NET will feature on the band’s upcoming album I’m Sorry I Didn’t Bite My Tongue, set for release 25 October 2024 via Seattle-based non-profit label Share It Music. A portion of the profits made from the album will go to the Joyful Heart Foundation.

The single is out now and you can give it a listen below.
