Always impressing with her originality, Eva Nolie Vae brings together jazz and indie pop with her new single, Sweet Exhaustion.
By Graeme Smith
Berlin, Germany-based Eva first appeared on this blog earlier this month thanks to her jazz and psych creation Feel The Sun. Now she’s back with a new single which sounds quite different but is still unmistakably hers.
Sweet Exhaustion is a soft and intimate track that opens with ponderous notes and vocalisations. Eva’s vocals are utterly mesmerising during the first verse before we get a chorus that fully embraces the freedom that comes from giving into exhaustion through dreamy indie pop. It’s a beautifully observed sentiment, and one that’s often overlooked when talking about mental health.
The track will feature on Eva’s upcoming EP Empty Hands, set for release at the end of October. It’s out now and you can give it a listen below.
