Helsinki, Finland-based singer songwriter Carla Aakre releases new ode to friendship, watercolour.
By Graeme Smith
Equal parts vibrant and dreamy indie pop, watercolour is the kind of track that has you instantly hooked. When Carla’s delicate vocals come in, they seal the deal, and I found myself gripped by every word they sung. They tell a bright tale full of imagery and autobiographical detail. I couldn’t help but be warmed by it.
Watercolour was created in collaboration with producer and mixer Roni Ylhäinen, and features a string a horn arrangement by Carla’s sister Milla Käyhty. It will appear on Carla’s upcoming album Things I Forgot to Tell You set for release in February 2025 via Kieku Records. You can give the single a listen below.
