The Clinic is the experimental jazz collaboration of Ari Joshua, Grant Schroff, Skerik, and Delvon Lamarr.
By Graeme Smith
For a listener with a love of all things technical, The Clinic is going to be a delight to listen to due to its bundles of innovative techniques. For the rest of us, there’s still plenty to enjoy.
Part of the dream team that’s pulled the track together is Ari Joshua, an artist who previously featured on this blog when Jane posed him some questions in an interview. The New York City, USA-based artist has a distinct point of view, and it comes through in his music.
The Clinic is a heady, groovy wonder, rich with textures and layers that always keeps the listener on their toes. Brass meets electric organ in a piece that brings the old school right up to date. Joining Ari on the track is Skerik on saxophone, Delvon Lamaar on Hammond organ, and Grant Schroff on drums.
The track is out now and you can check out its visualiser below.
