Electronic musician Tatum Gale returns to our blog for the first time in four years with new single, 800m.

We first discovered the music of the singer, songwriter and producer in the spring of 2020 when I ran the rule over his team up with singer Laura Jinn, Joanna. At the time, I was impressed by the track’s lyrical storytelling and big bass sound.

Somehow, our paths haven’t crossed since, but that’s all now changed thanks to 800m. A piece that starts ambient and brooding, it quickly hits a jazz-pop groove. Tatum’s soulful vocals are the highlight, telling a pleading tale in the verse before letting loose during a fiery chorus. Lyrically, it is an outreach, telling someone close to Tatum that he’s there for her.

800m will feature on his upcoming EP Chickadee Eye, set for release in November. You can give it a listen below.
