When The August Arrival, led by songwriter and vocalist Sara MacDonald, first came to my attention in (appropriately) August this year, I was utterly enchanted with their driving folk rock and introspection. When I saw they had a new single out, and a debut full-length album to boot, my heart leapt.

Hillsides is the band’s first full-length, consisting of eight varied tracks. Fleeting and Forever sits second in the running, just after previous single Camped Out. It’s a wonderfully moody number, opening with pensive chords before settling into a soul-searching groove. Sara’s vocals, as always, grab your attention and don’t let go right up to the track’s expansive ending.

The album Hillsides is out now. You can give Fleeting and Forever a listen below.
