Australia’s Izzy Skinner impresses with nostalgic vignette, The Trees.

A prodigious talent, Izzy has been performing since her early school days. Her skill with the violin brought her plenty of plaudits and international tours as part of the Little Yarra Ensemble. Since then, she’s continued her education in music and released her debut album, Mr. Wizard, in 2022.

Opening with plucked strings and a sense of wistfulness, her new track The Trees is an indie folk number like no other. It brings an impressive amount of atmosphere considering its minimalism, and Izzy’s vocals are full of charisma. They tell a story of spending a reflective day among nature that will have you lacing up your boots and heading outside.
