Peri Rae recounts the chaos of a breakup with her new alt-rock track, You Drove An Hour Trip

The London-based artist has previously featured on our pages three times before thanks to her singles In Between, the ocean (i could die), and i should be happy.

Her new track You Drove An Hour Trip sees her embrace the alt-rock side of her sound and speaks of the chaos of a breakup, drawing musical influence from Alex Turner’s underrated solo EP Submarine, a record that means a lot to Peri. After a soft rock instrumental introduction, Peri’s vocals come in, the reference is clear. There’s a gentle sense of heartbreak about it all, and each note is sung with such expression.
