London’s SATRE returns with therapeutic indie folk ballad

SATRE invites us to take a step out of the urban hustle and bustle in his new track, Cleanse.

By Graeme Smith

Born in Sweden and based in London, SATRE has appeared on our blog a few times now. It was near the beginning of 2024 that his music first appeared on our radar and, throughout the year, we’ve been enamoured with it.

His latest release is an indie folk ballad called Cleanse, a meditation about escaping to nature when feeling the stress of the modern world.

Things open delicately acoustic, giving plenty of space to SATRE’s expressive vocals. SATRE counts Bon Iver among his influences and you hear it in this track, particularly during a soaring, cinematic chorus that’s rich with percussive layers and touches of strings.

Cleanse is out now and you can give it a listen below.
