Civil War Ghost drop timely and important single, The Citizen.

By Graeme Smith

Led by Oliver Cant and inspired by the sound of Television and Black Flag, Civil War Ghost have appeared on our blog twice before with an inclusion in Jane’s Underground Metal round up and a share of their single Just Tell Lies.

Their new release The Citizen is the third and final single from their self-titled EP and paints a less than rosy picture of living in today’s world. It questions if it’s society that’s unhealthy with its lyrics, kicking off with a staccato guitar rhythm and passionate vocals. It’s punk that’s truly punk, with a unique style and plenty to say. At once it’s what we expect from Civil War Ghost and so much more. It might be their best track yet.

The Citizen is out now and you can give it a listen below.
