Manchester’s onedaybear returns with rebellious new single

Solo artist onedaybear inspires rebellion with new post-rock single, Riot.

By Graeme Smith

A Manchester-based rock act, onedaybear has featured twice before on these pages, going back to 2021 when I shared his moody track Swim. In 2023, I followed that up with a review of his single, Island which turned its eye on post-Brexit Britain.

His new single Riot delves into the theme of rebellion throughout history such as the American War of Independence and the Gunpowder Plot. With it, we get a rumbling post-rock instrumental, spoken word vocals and some powerful storytelling. A vibrant chorus is a standout, rousing the rebel in all of us.

Riot was self-recorded in Peak Forest, England. It’s out now and you can give it a listen below.
