New to our blog, Work In TV is a Sheffield-based indie pop band inspired by the likes of The Strokes, LCD Soundsystem, Talking Heads, David Bowie, Warmduscher and Yard Act. They’ve come to our attention through their single, The Good Life.
The track explores the hard realities of living with mental health struggles while balancing the books and one’s own energy. Despite the weightiness of its lyrical story, there’s a bright energy about the song. The instrumental stays simmering in the verse before becoming wonderfully jangly in the chorus. There’s, of course, an irony about its choral chant, but you can’t help but smile listening to it.
You can catch Work In TV playing at Live At Leeds on 16 November 2024.
The Good Life is out now and you can give it a listen below.
