Apricot Ink tell an unconventional love story with title track of their new EP, Vibey Barbie.

No strangers to this blog, we’ve been covering the music of Australia’s Apricot Ink since 2021. Recently, I shared their vulnerable single Aquarius Pisces.

Their latest release is the title track of their new EP, Vibey Barbie.

In singer-songwriter Sara’s words, the song: “leaves an open end as to what or who [it] is about.” What is certain is that it’s a love story, but not a typical one.

It’s a sultry track, with Sara’s vocals capturing our hearts as usual. Its visceral storytelling paints a vivid picture while a soulful, stripped-back instrumental creates the atmosphere. A climactic chorus brings sweet relief.
