Nick Marks brings together a dream team for bright and ethereal new track, Into The Void.

A New York, USA-based composer and pianist, Nick’s music originally appeared on our blog as part of Jane’s Get Your Groove On round-up in 2023. Earlier this year, I shared his funky and cinematic EP, Cinematic Chromatics Vol. II.

His new track Into The Void is the penultimate single from Vol. III of the same series which is set for release early in 2025.

The track was conceived in 2017 when Nick had relocated from Australia to the US. Revisiting his original chords in 2021, he began to construct the final piece which features vocals by Arta Jēkabsone, drums and beats from Doron Lev, horns from Andrew Gould, Sam Dillon and Dave Levy, and flute from Sarpay Ozçagatay.

A vibrant and soulful intro sets the tone before a bright groove kicks in. Ethereal vocalisations delight throughout while the instrumental textures come and go. Things end beautifully with some jazz piano.
