YME celebrates self-acceptance in their new single, Love Yourself.

Real name Ymkje de Bijl, YME is a Netherlands-based pop artist. They previously featured on this blog in 2023 when Jane discovered their music for us thanks to their track I Rule The World. She was so taken with YME’s world that she even posed them some questions in an interview.

Their new single Love Yourself is an anthem of self-acceptance reminding us we are perfect the way we are. For YME in particular, it was about accepting their autism and it celebrates difference wonderfully through an unconventional pop arrangement. We get some severe moodiness in the electronic instrumental before YME brings some soul with their vocal. A singalong chorus is a stirring highlight.
