Shany Bartal returns with triumphant new single

Shany Bartal goes blues rock for empowering new single, Jubilee.

By Graeme Smith

A Tel Aviv, Israel-based artist, Shany has appeared once before on this blog when I ran the rule over her track Ms. Munroe.

Her new single Jubilee is about challenges and personal struggles, but is ultimately a song of hope and optimism. It’s named for the Judeo-Christian concept of the jubilee year, and draws inspiration from African-American slave music. With it, we get some vibrant and soulful blues rock. Shany’s vocals are beautifully pleading during the first verse before the lyrics become empowering in the chorus. “You got what it takes!” Shany affirms and as a listener we can’t help but feel buoyed. If that wasn’t enough, a big rock breakdown seals the deal.

Jubilee was made in collaboration with Joseph E-Shine and The Voice‘s Ben Goldstein. It’s out now and you can give it a listen below.
