Jason Nolan draws us in with exquisite new track

Jason Nolan is back with perhaps his most poetic effort to date, Manufacturing.

By Graeme Smith

An electronic pop artist of English and Malay descent who splits his time between Wellington, New Zealand and London, Jason has appeared twice before on this blog, back in 2018 and more recently in the summer of 2024.

His latest release to catch my attention is about “navigating the noise” in an increasingly and deliberately confusing world. It was the striking poetry of its lyrics that really drew me to it. There are some beautifully raw and relatable details in them, and they are backed nicely by an understatedly emotional electronic arrangement. It’s simple exquisite. I’m certainly looking forward to hearing more from him soon.

Manufacturing is out now and you can give it a listen below.
