Real name Matt Burnside, The Ocean Beneath is debuting on his blog thanks to his new collab with an old favourite.

Though the Leeds-based project may be new to us, Matt’s collaborator on the single Show Up, Holly Taymar, is a familiar voice. We’ve covered the singer songwriter live on her own, as part of The Bronze, and guesting on several other tracks.

Show Up feels like something of a departure for her, with her voice paired with Matt’s deep house beats. They take on a ghostly quality with echoing harmonies against a driving and atmospheric backdrop. The message of the track is simple and powerful – despite life’s many barriers, we need to keep moving.
