We’ve been covering Kelsie’s work a lot over the past year and a bit. In that time, we’ve seen her take various style of pop, as well as Vladimir Putin as the Ukrainian-American protested his war in her home country. Jane’s featured her in her Monthly Favourites and Underground Punk round-ups, and even posed her some questions in an interview.

Her latest track and video, Walking Away, sees her starting 2025 on the front foot. Against a cinematic pop backdrop, Kelsie gives us an emotional vocal performance. Her lyrics speak of fighting her way out of a toxic relationship, at once speaking of her own experience and drawing a parallel to the plight of her country.

The track comes complete with a self-directed video, filmed in Kyiv, Ukraine. In it, we see her intimately performing to camera, slowly shedding layers of clothes as an allegory for letting go of the baggage in her life. Both the track and video end powerfully with a lingering close.

Walking Away is out now and you can check out its video below.
