That’s right, we have another fascinating piece of music from Spanish composer Juan Pablo Fernández Ramos for you, in the form of La crisalida.
By Jane Howkins
La crisalida starts out slowly with a haunting woodwind melody, before the rest of the instrumentation kicks in, slowly building up the main melody of the piece. It’s quite a unique piece, in that it takes a while for the music to really build up, before dropping off again quickly, due to its extremely short running time (the track is a shade over a minute long in total). La crisalida may be a short piece of music, but this factor just leaves you longing for more, and it’s amazing that a composer like Juan can create something so short yet so beautiful.
