Arriving on our blog with his upcoming album, The Love is Real, Jimmy B Fearless is an R&B and hip-hop artist who demands attention.
By Graeme Smith
The Love Is Real is about, unsurprisingly, love – in all its forms from family, friends, or partners. It’s about the universal desire for it and the emotional damage it can sometimes inflict on us. For Jimmy this comes in the form of a mantra that runs through the album – “can’t forget what she said.”
The album gets going with Helpless, a team up with JuJu Walker. It starts things with a smouldering opening in which Jimmy’s expressive vocals shine. His lyrics feel confessional during a raw first verse before a percussive groove kicks in. It’s a striking moment that draws the listener in.
It’s the first of five collabs on the album, with features from Homage, Lil Navy, Curtiss King, and K. Teaggzz across its thirteen tracks.
Album highlights include the groovy realness of The Weekend, the fiery and flavourful Lost in a Bottle, the punchy and powerful RunAway, the dark vulnerability of Small Circle High Walls, and the intoxicating mix of old school and modern edge that is album closer My Heart’s Affair.
With his upcoming album, Jimmy B Fearless is bringing his own unique flair to the rap game. With thoughtful lyrics and plenty of lush production, it’s an album for all lovers of the hip hop and R&B genres.
The Love Is Real out Valentine’s day, 14 February 2025 and is available to pre-order as a digital download or on vinyl and CD via Jimmy’s website.
