Now the London-based artist has come to our attention through her second single release, Evergreen. It follows on from her debut, Beep Beep, released late in 2024 and is about the mental process that precedes taking a leap of faith – initially inspired by her own decision to uproot and move across the world. She obtained her PhD in Music Production from Wellington, New Zealand.

Evergreen is a track that slowly builds through an understated intro before a throbbing beat comes in. Its heaviness nicely contrasts AUNCE’s light and airy vocals. They beautifully deliver the soul-searching of the lyrics, especially during a life-affirming chorus that’s rich with vocal layers.

AUNCE is an artist who has fully harnesses the power of electronic pop. Considering this is her second single, I foresee a bright future for her music career.

Evergreen was written in collaboration with Jordan Rakei, Melbourne, Australia-based Boy Soda, and Auckland, New Zealand’s Harry Charles. It’s produced by AUNCE with Harry Charles and Chris Hyson, mixed by TJ Allen, and mastered by Guy Davie.

The single is out now and you can give it a listen below.
