It was in 2020 that he first graced these pages through track Underdog. In 2021, he returned through his single A Change Will Come. We’re not the only ones who have recognised him – he’s been labelled “the best singer in Sweden.”

His new EP, Living & Breathing features five completely new tracks that show us a range of styles and emotions.

No Good Gone kicks things off in a vibrant, soulful style, seamlessly blending folk and pop during a passionate verse before evolving into punchy electronica in the chorus. Title track Living And Breathing then strips things back for a vulnerable, piano-led moment in which Alex’s voice truly shines.

Paper Love opens moody before growing with electronic layers to a vibrant climax. White Flag introduces some bluesy rock. I Am More Than This is delicately acoustic and philosophical. The collection is then rounded off by a live studio version of White Flag which gives the track and compelling rawness.

With its heightened sense of emotion, Alex’s new EP is one of the most powerful records I’ve heard for awhile. Aside from the quality of his voice, it shines through its well-thought-out variation and top drawer pop production.

Living & Breathing is out now and you can give it a listen below.
