Based in Victoria, Canada, Sail Cassady are award-winning queer chamber pop indie rockers who have just come to my attention through their latest single, Hold Me Down.

Hold Me Down is the second single in a trilogy about the coming out journey of its lead character Lemon Austin Cadence and follows on from previous track Finally, I. The single provides a cantering yet moody middle to the story, merging country and blues with indie rock uniquely. Expressive, charismatic vocals steal the show as the track’s tale of a forbidden love affair exposed unfolds.

The single was written by lead vocalist Colin Craverio and features Chris Lloyd, Aaron Blair, Nate Bailey, Michael Wilford, John Flatman and Shannon Sargent. It was produced, recorded, engineered, and mixed by Bob Gronotte of GECS productions, and mastered by Brock McFarlane at CPS Mastering. It’s out now on World Peach Records.
