Our coverage of American singer songwriter Chloe Moriondo goes back to 2020 when I shared her team up with Tessa Violet, Words Ain’t Enough. Then, in 2022, we were fortunate enough to catch her live at Leeds Festival, playing a set of laid-back rock.

We’ve not featured her music again since, so it was high time for that to change. Her latest single, hate it, sees her moving into indie pop territory through a bouncing but melancholic number with a beat that’s instantly infectious. Chloe’s vocals shine in the verse, delivering lyrics that speak of how envy can take over.

The single is taken from her upcoming album oyster which is set for release 28 March 2025.
