Discovery: Bonfire Tide take a plunge in immersive new single

Based up here in the North, Bonfire Tide are a six-piece folk and indietronica band who have just caught my ear through their latest single, Submarine.

By Graeme Smith

There’s a depth to Submarine that means it washes over you right from the off. Emotional vocalisations join a lively acoustic guitar riff before a powerful verse comes in. The vocals are almost whispered but are unignorable, especially during a soaring, stirring chorus. Lyrically, Submarine speaks of internal struggles, exploring the heavy themes of depression, failure and detachment.

The track teases the band’s debut album, currently slated for release in the Spring.

Submarine is out now and you can give it a listen below.
