Based in Wakefield, Oliver Pinder has been appearing on our blog since July 2024, first through his tale of a toxic relationship, never ever, then through the relatable indie rock of lonely together.
By Graeme Smith
His new single grapples with the weighty topics of grief and loss, channelling them into a fuzzy, anthemic number sonically similar to the work of Sam Fender. There’s a boldness to it all, and a sense of gritty Northerness that we are partial to around these parts. As ever, Oliver’s characterful vocals are the star of the show. They’re understated in the verse before coming into their own during a punchy chorus.
Oliver is an artist on the up. He headlines the Brudenell Social Club in Leeds for the first time on 28 February 2025, supported by Free Party and Sonni Mills. It’s a prelude to an eleven-date UK headline tour slated for September 2025. Having already gained support from BBC Radio 6 Music and BBC Introducing, this could well be the breakthrough moment for him.
You can be sure we’ll be supporting him every step of the way. It’s fantastic to have such a great artist right on our Yorkshire doorstep.
Haunted is out now and you can give it a listen below.
