It was through her EP, Friction, that we got acquainted and since then she’s made five other appearances. In September 2023, Jane named her among her Monthly Favourites. In January 2025, she was back with her first single from her upcoming album.
Her latest, Float, will also feature on that album. While previous single There You Go proved to be a rousing number, Float feels altogether dreamier. Pleasing electronic textures provide the backdrop for Eleri’s stunning voice in the chorus while stirring strings bring plenty of emotion. Its lyrics speak of stillness and surrender, a timely reminder that sometimes the best thing to do is nothing.
Originally from Chicago, Eleri first made a name for herself through a series of Sondheim covers. It proved the perfect springboard for her to start releasing her own originals through which she’s showing herself to be a true innovator. I certainly can’t get enough of her unique sound. I can’t wait to hear the whole new album!
Float is out now and you can give it a listen below.
