We haven’t shared the music of Australia’s Miya Zawa on this blog before, but they’re not exactly new to us. Made up of Sara Flint and Tom Brereton, we’ve previously featured their work as Apricot Ink.

Miya Zawa is a new project and So Sick is their debut single. The project sees the pair branch out into pop, dub and folk without losing any of the sultriness that we came to love from them. Sara’s vocals stay as captivating as always as they deliver relatable and poetic lyrics. The track truly comes into its own during a pop chorus which stands out from the crowd.
Lyrically, the track explores the high standards we sometimes have for our friends when it comes to their partners, inspired by a real life situation in which Sara found her bestie puncing below her weight.
So Sick is out now and you can give it a listen below.
