Led by Danny Lloyd, the Brighton-based rock outfit Hybrid Kid have been appearing on our pages since 2022. Now, they’re back with a new single all about resilience and determination. It’s called Cry.

What strikes you first about Cry is its enchanting acoustic guitar melody. It loops pleasantly as emotional vocals come in, telling its story of picking oneself up after a fall. Things become almost meditative during a smouldering chorus and finally reach a cosmic crescendo at the track’s climax.

Cry was recorded in a barn in the South Downs National Park and is out now. You can give it a listen below.
