Inspired by the Egyptian city of the same name, Cairo is the debut single from London-based pop rock artist, Rob Mawer.

On a visit to the city, Rob was struck by the seemingly lawless and chaotic nature of the place and sonically, Cairo, reflects that. Electronic layers fall on top of each other in a semi-structured way while his understated vocals cut through it all. His lyrics are strikingly poetic, painting a vivid picture as they unfold.

Better known as a session guitarist in London’s underground scene, Rob is now emerging from the proverbial shadows to embark on a recording career of his own. I can’t wait to see how it develops.
