It transcends a number of genres and, somehow, so does each track within it. If you’re craving some quality, well-produced music, but want to be kept on your toes, this album is definitely worth a listen.
The first track on the record, Do Me Wrong, is the perfect introduction to an album exuding a sense of cool and gives an exciting taste of what’s to come. With vocals reminiscent of Paul McCartney, and a sharp yet funky rock groove that seems to build and build, it truly showcases the inventiveness of the Rotterdam-based band.

Can’t Let You In, Can’t Let You Out flips the script. It has a country-esque sound and is a great example of the Dawn Brothers’ ability to tell a story with its simple yet compelling lyrics. The song encapsulates the paradoxical nature of the entire album, sounding both nostalgic and completely unique – a feat each song on the album manages to achieve.
Humble Call is a personal stand-out. Its tight and dynamic rhythm, with an edge comparable to The Police, shows off the band’s ability to take influences from great artists before them, and create sounds and riffs that are modern, moving, and unpredictable.
Listening to Dawn Brothers’ latest album, it’s clear this band know exactly what they are, and have fine-tuned their abilities. The songs on this album are gritty, enigmatic and delivered with an undeniable sense of confidence. The only way to improve it would be to experience it live. Luckily, 2025 tour dates are out, and you can book tickets now.
Cry Alone by Dawn Brothers is set for release Friday 28 March 2025. The band come to Parish, Huddersfield on 15 May 2025.
