Nomé Naku builds a world with self-titled album

Nomé Naku first hit our radar in January 2025 through her Australian aboriginal-inspired track and video, Dunes. It’s a song that appears on her new, self-titled album.

Dunes provides a late highlight on the album sitting alongside thirteen other experimental and atmospheric tracks. One for fans of the likes of Aurora and Grimes, we get plenty of electronic layers, ethereal vocals and ground-breaking maximalism.

It’s not surprising from someone who considers herself more than an artist. Sierra Bohnet, the Berklee-trained producer, vocalist and songwriter behind the project, is attempting to build a world with her music. At times, she even sings in her own invented language.

Other album highlights include the euphoric team up with Llynks, Climb, the vulnerable soulfulness of Feel Human and Giver, the marching beat of Into the Dark, the dream-inducing vocal layers of Nomé, the visceral Soulless Being, and the powerful, affirming To Love So Gently.

With her new album, Nomé Naku set out to create a world and she has definitely succeeded. It’s a record that’s easy to spend time in. In fact, the hardest part is having to leave when it’s all over.

Nomé Naku is out now and you can give it a listen below.
