Leeds rockers about-faces head back to the old stomping ground with new single

Leeds-based rock band about-faces first hit our radar at the start of 2025, impressing with their nostalgic track, Too Old For Fun. Now, they’re back with a new one.

By Graeme Smith

Not Been Back is a track that paints a picture of community neglect as it reflects on returning to one’s old stomping ground. References to ‘bags for drugs’ and ‘metal canisters on the church’s lawn’ bring its story to life, as do to the soulful vocals. When the track hits its groovy chorus, you find yourself hooked.

The track was produced by Ali Chant, known for his work with Yard Act, PJ Harvey and Soccer Mommy and is out now. If you fancy catching about-faces live, you can do at The Lending Room in Leeds on 12 April 2025. Tickets for all their shows are here.
