Discovery: Mission To Sleep grab our attention with debut album

A Spark or The End is the debut album from Mission To Sleep which shows the evolution of their sound over the past few years.

The Boston, USA-based band are new to us but have been releasing records since 2022. Two EPs, Post Youth and White Death precede this first full-length.

It’s an album that builds on their sound, giving us bombastic and hard-hitting rock and plenty of emotion. They don’t hold back right from album opener No Anchor right to loud-quiet closer Bury The Ghost.

Mission to Sleep have also drafted in the vocals of Sarah Jeanne of Aversed and Christopher Preece of Vanna and Inspirit. The former adds harmony to the sludgy Carousel Teeth while the latter lends his talents to the cosmic highlight of Like Heaven.

Elsewhere Designer Graves, Fall Into Bloom, and This Massacre complete the track-list giving us frenetic guitar playing, soft introspection, and rousing gloominess respectively.

If you love your rock on the heavy and melodic side then you’re really going to dig Mission To Sleep’s sound. With their debut album, they’ve created an impressive collection with no filler. They already selling out shows Stateside, and they definitely have potential to be an international hit.

A Spark or The End is out now, available to buy on vinyl. You can give it a listen below.
