Macho Macho gives us soft and bright indie pop. Understated yet charismatic vocals provide the early hook before things become infectious with the singalong “macho macho” moments. The passion is upped a notch during the chorus which is delightfully silly while maintaining its serious edge. It’s so much fun to listen to Macho Macho, especially during its layered climax.

For the Los Angeles, USA-based artist, the track is a letter of admiration to his father. “Macho Macho is a tribute to my dad,” he explains. “Our relationship wasn’t always easy. I’ve always been emotionally sensitive and empathetic—traits that didn’t quite fit within the expectations shaped by the machismo culture so common across the Americas. Because of that, we often misunderstood each other. But over time, I’ve seen my dad try. I’ve watched him grow, open up, and take real steps toward becoming more emotionally aware. That effort means everything to me. This song is a tribute to that growth—and a reminder that he’s not alone in it. I hope Macho Macho resonates with other families navigating similar journeys.”

Macho Macho is out now and you can give it a listen below.
