These Words is the self-reflective new track and video from York Calling favourite, Frank Joshua.
By Graeme Smith
The track gives us Joshua’s typically dreamy style while he ramps up the emotion through a compelling piano melody and some provoking imagery across both the lyrics and video. After a stripped-back opening, we get a percussive groove that adds some electronica to proceedings while the vocals stay beautifully soulful throughout.
Lyrically, it delves into the struggles of a songwriter questioning their own success, something Joshua and his producer Tony White know all too well.
Recorded in North London and Exeter, These Words is out now via Numen Records and you can give it a listen below.
