Man rm -ir is the cryptic title of electronic pop artist olivia brown‘s new EP.
By Graeme Smith
An exploration of heartbreak, trauma, and healing, man rm -ir is lush and experimental collection combining electronic beats with organic vocals.
There’s something youthful and edgy about the way it goes about things. Brown throws out the established pop rulebook while expressing herself yet there are elements that are recognisable – dark pop, R&B, and hyperpop which are all very much part of the zeitgeist.
44 w vine starts things off with some bright and emotional textures before anguish provides a suitably moody moment. Window8.6 closes things with an atmospheric highlight that has an understated groove.
The three track EP was produced with iyrliaes and roxy phantom and is bound to get Chicago, USA-based brown noticed. She’s already getting plenty of attention thanks to her 2025 single touch you with Sangeetha Ramanuj, a track that nicely tees up this new collection. I feel that we might be at the start of a very exciting career from her. I can’t wait to hear what she does next.
Man rm -ir is out now on all major streaming platforms including, Spotify, Apple Music, and Bandcamp. You can give it a listen below.
