Wakefield’s TjTUCKER hit my radar earlier this year through his single, Transmuting, which I enjoyed so much that I chatted to him about it for our podcast. We also talked of his EP, Calm + Casual, which is out shortly.

Opening with some spoken word poetry delivered over a jazzy and soulful backdrop, you can tell straight away that Calm + Casual isn’t your typical hip-hop record. From there we get the laidback rap while instrumentally things are kept fresh. Tj hits some sweet bars across its five track. Transmuting is, of course, a dreamy highlight but there’s plenty more to get stuck into.

The EP launches 20 June at Hyde Park Book Club in Leeds with live performances, a Calm + Casual first listen experience, and a limited edition merch drop including NFC CDs, Lyric books, and graphic tees.
