A diary of personal experiences created over the period of six months, longing for happiness is the new collaborative album from reykkin.
By Graeme Smith
Longing for happiness is a collection of cosy yet emotional alternative instrumentals that will wrap you in the audible equivalent of a warm blanket while also tugging at your heartstrings. There are moments of nostalgia such as these good times and in search of adventures and soulful wistfulness in life is changing and facing the reality. At this time is a smouldering highlight while watching the sunset closes things with relaxing ambience.
Across the album, reykkin joins forces with anewway, your home and Fujiwara for seven short yet atmospheric pieces. There’s a depth to it all which belies its eleven-and-a-half minute runtime.
With summer around the corner, reykkin and his collaborators have given us the perfect soundtrack for those hazy days. If you need something chill to put on while the weather heats up, you need look no further than longing for happiness.
The album is out now via Limerence Records, available to stream on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, Deezer, and more.
