Elly Kace releases dreamy anthem to self-love

Named for her favourite flowers, Lisianthuses is the new declaration of self-love from York Calling favourite, Elly Kace.

By Graeme Smith

Lisianthuses is a lush and dreamy effort that opens with some wistful chords and soft vocalisations. When the verse comes it, it’s understatedly gripping, overflowing with relatable emotion and a certain melancholia. The lyrics suggest nostalgia and speak of finding self-love against the odds. As the track finds its feet, stirring strings come in.

Kace was inspired by the titular flower due to their notoriety as a plant that’s difficult to grow, but have blooms that outlast roses by some margin. As someone who refuses to be boxed in, she relates to them.

We love her for her differences and have been sharing the New York City, USA-based artist’s unique music since 2021. Lisianthuses is a beautiful addition to her discography. It’s out now and you can give it a listen below.
