Fresh from the cover of Spotify’s All New Pop playlist, Jewel Owusu is back on the blog with an anthem about destructive cycles. It’s called bed.
By Graeme Smith
Bed is a soft and intimate number with a driving pop groove. As ever, it’s Owusu’s vocals that make it stand out from the crowd, understated and compelling in the verse before becoming dreamy and airy in the chorus. Lyrics speak of unhealthy attachment and conflict of the heart. A memorable, melodic hook sticks with you.
It’s a great return from the Melbourne, Australia-based artist who has been appearing on our pages since 2021. She rightly deserves the label of ‘rising star.’
Bed is out now and you can give it a listen below.
