The Avelons are back with an anxious but hopeful new single

An indie rock act based right here in the North East, The Avelons are a band to which we keep returning. Their latest single is an honest reflection on feeling disconnected and is called Follow.

Follow is pacy and passionate indie rock which opens with echoing riffs and a vibrant rhythm section. When the vocals come in, they are steeped in emotion becoming their most pleading in the chorus. Lyrics speak of inner and outer conflict, drawing on familiar imagery to tell a relatable tale. Ultimately, the track had a hopeful feel, showing us there’s light at the end of the tunnel thanks to a powerful finish.

Of the single, lead singer Jack says: ““I wanted to close that chapter on [debut EP The Gallows], the themes, the darker sound. It gets back to a place of real life and with that came an almost organic sound sitting somewhere between our old indie work and the EP’s edge. It’s things we’ve all experienced, clashing with friends and feeling isolated from those who mattered most.”

Follow is out now and you can give it a listen below.
